TIPS IN Designing
AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENTS

Keep learning activities simple.

Less is more. Avoid complicated learning activities that take much time and effort but produce minimal results. Always think: “Minimal Activities, Maximum Impact.”

Ditch the nice-to-knows.

Focus on the essentials and non-negotiable concepts and skills.

Use clear and “hard” verbs when giving instructions.

The activities should make your presence felt. Students must be able to “hear” you when they read your instructions or online module.

Use apps that are familiar to students

This will make things easier for students. If there are new apps to be used, ensure that students and even parents, for younger learners, know how to use the apps.

Provide Back-end channels

Provide communication or back-end channels for learner or home support.
