CET EdTech

The Center of Educational Technology (CET) is Benilde’s cornerstone to its digital learning culture. It is the office responsible for the administration of relevant applications that support teaching and learning processes, the implementation of capacity building activities and programs and management of the development of digital learning materials.

The CET commits to a vision of a Borderless Benilde for anyone, anytime and anywhere. Our mission is to build and sustain an empowering and humanized digital learning experience for all stakeholders that is driven by a dynamic and inclusive digital learning culture.

Nobody in CET knows BigSky more Than Roger. He handles the LMS administration, deployment and day-to-day operations. He also assesses any software integrations and leads in the creation of the instructor and learner’s data visualizations.

Coaching and Capacity Building Unit

The Coaching and Capacity Building Unit (CCBU) supports the academic community by providing training and mentoring opportunities for teachers, students, and associates on an umbrella of topics related to online learning and technology use. Group training may be conducted through seminars, workshops, or self-paced learning courses. Mentoring sessions are one-on-one.

Nandi makes sure that there is ample opportunity for faculty to join CET training workshops each term. He takes care of logistics and ensures the quality of the content of each training session. He also manages the schedules and development opportunities of our Trainer/Mentors, and works with the team to develop learning modules.

Chris takes care of CET’s student support and capacity-building arm. Apart from managing the BigSky Orientation Course(s) for Students, Chris keeps his finger on the pulse of what our students need and he helps to conceptualize and actualize technology-related capacity building opportunities for them.

Ryan takes care of the capacity-building needs of our non-teaching associates. Mr. Efficiency himself, Ryan focuses on increasing the work efficiency and productivity of our associates by showing them how to maximize the tools that are available to them. Now that work has gone fully online, Ryan’s role has become increasingly in demand.

Applications and Support Unit

The Applications and Support Unit administers the College’s online learning management system, BigSky and all the support services related to it. It also manages the use of other applications such as Kahoot, Turnitin and Screencastomatic that may be used by associates in their courses. It aims to provide solutions and opportunities that will enhance the educational experience of faculty and students and increase engagement through a variety of educational technologies.

Trini oversees, manages and helps in the daily tasks of the Support Unit. She ensures that assistance is provided for the functions and activities of other CET units as well as for events the CET is involved in. Aside from this, she also produces the various support tutorials that are being presented in workshops, shared on social media and used by the Benildean community.

Reuel serves as the Center’s point person regarding LMS updates, integration projects, maintenance and administration, and exploration of features and functions to provide solutions or opportunities for the stakeholders.

Ghie offers the Support Unit and the Center as a whole a wealth of knowledge since she was already around during the Center’s inception. She has a very good understanding of what needs to be done and when, why things need to be done and how. Her dedication and service to the Center is unparalleled.

Content Development Unit

The Content Development Unit focuses on the development of a culture of creating effective and meaningful learning experiences. It oversees institutional programs that highlight the integration and optimization of available and accessible digital technologies in the development of learning materials used by the institution to serve the community and its specific needs.

Jen spearheads the design and creation of programs that empowers the Benildean community in developing digital content to enhance the teaching and learning experience of the institution.

Jec is the unit’s digital storyteller, video editor, and cinematographer. His primary role in the team is focused on coordinating and overseeing programs that help cultivate the culture of producing effective and sustainable digital content for instructional materials and help maximize teaching and learning.

Coordinator for Instructional Content Design and Development

Issel is tasked to create and develop designs for instructional materials that are appropriate and digitally sustainable for teachers and learners. Aside from this, she teaches writing for film and animation in the Animation Program.
